Baby Snuggles

Zoe Sarah Westover has joined our family.

She has us all wrapped around her finger with her chubby cheeks, dark hair and tiny fingers & toes. We can't get enough of cooing and snuggling and loving this new little one.

Mother's Day

Excitement awaited me as I brought our new little one home on the loveliest of days-
Mother's Day
They had crafted their gifts with care
and the hugs were plentiful the moment I walked in the door.
'Tis sweet to be a mother.

starts

It may look like this today in our garden
but we have high hopes that we will eventually have a place to transplant these lovely starts

Worms

he spent the morning gathering the poor worms that had washed up during the rain storm.
And after having carefully collected every last one
he asked "where do worms live, mom?"
so we found a bit of flower garden where they were unceremoniously relocated
He hoping that they would wriggle down into the earth once again.
I knowing that at least they would nourish our future flowers.

Science Saturday

I awoke to find the three of them in the kitchen engrossed in a special project:
with only a pitcher full of water
some paper cups
and food coloring
a great science experiment was unfolding.

As I watched them make predictions and then mix the colors accordingly, I observed that not only was a lovely color wheel produced and the properties of colors better understood
-but a daddy was making a lasting memory and endearing them all ever more deeply into my heart

Charlie Check First

For preschool I got to teach about safety.
I found a great philosophy and teaching program that I liked SO much better than "stranger danger"
Charlie Check First was loved by the preschool kids
and hopefully will help them remember to check first before going anywhere with anyone.

and here's the snack we had with it

theatre & ice cream

Taking a step to introduce our children to live theater, we attended a kid-friendly, hour long play of Beauty and the Beast at the fabulous Children's Treehouse Museum.

This was our second show and I was wary, remembering the first time that it was hard keeping them quiet and in their seats, plus after the play we ended up chasing them through the museum and the parking lot before finally getting them into the car.
I wanted a pleasant, and enjoyable family night out, not mayhem.

And to my surprise, that is exactly what I got this time. There was a moment during the play when the four of us sat all snuggled together that my heart was so full and grateful for my family. And then we all enjoyed the ice cream; a well deserved treat.
